A Disney World monorail driver was killed after colliding with another train at the Orlando, Fla., park, according to officials.

The driver died early Sunday when he rear-ended another train at about 2 a.m. EDT.

The accident occurred at the Ticket and Transportation station which is where park guests travel from the parking lots into the Magic Kingdom.  Both trains were returning visitors to the parking lot following the park’s closing for the night.  There were about “5 or 6? passengers on the train, but none of them sustained any injuries according to park officials.  The first driver, who was not identified, had to be cut out of his cab and was pronounced dead at the scene, CFNews13.com reported.

Two employees and five guests on both trains were not injured.

Walt Disney World vice president of public affairs Mike Griffin issued a statement offering condolences to the employee’s family and saying the monorail was closed.

“Today, we mourn the loss of our fellow cast member. Our hearts go out to his family and to those who have lost a friend and co-worker,” Mike Griffin said.There is no indication yet of what caused the accident to happen

Witnesses said the crash took place on the EPCOT track near the Disney World parking lot as people were leaving the park following a Fourth of July fireworks show.

According to tv channel 13, this is the first fatal accident in the Walt Disney World monorail system’s almost 38-year history.

Tragedy takes no holidays: McNair shot dead in Nashville

One of the best quarterback in the NFL, Steve McNair,and a woman was found dead with a gunshot to the head in 2nd South & Lea Ave in Nashville. Steve McNair Dead will shock the NFL Fans around the world. We all know that McNair was a prolific quarterback of the Tenesse Titans as he lead them to the SuperBowl.

According to the news, McNair suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Steve McNair was prominent for the Titans because of his winnings and even sacrificing his body just for yards.

McNair was 36 and played 13 seasons before retiring in April 2008.McNair will be best remembered for leading the Titans to their only Super Bowl in 2000 when his final pass of the game wound up coming inches short of a game-winning touchdown against the Rams when Kevin Dyson was tackled at the goal line as time expired.

Police spokesman Don Aaron said officials tentatively identified the woman, but did not release her name. He confirmed she wasn’t McNair’s wife, Mechelle.

“I don’t have any answers for you now as to what’s happened, who’s responsible,There are persons who were around the complex today, visitors, who have been taken to headquarters for questioning, just to see what they know, what they may have seen,” Aaron said.

The condominium is one that McNair was known to frequent, but police spokeswoman Kristin Mumford said she didn’t know if he was the owner.

It is ominous to recall now that McNair was arrested for illegal gun possession in May of 2003 when a 9-mm handgun was found in his car when he was pulled over for a drunk-driving arrest.
